What is Team FERAL all about?

Team FERAL is a merchandise store with a focus on partnering with smaller Creators and providing affordable merch options for their smaller communities.

How do you pay your artists?

Up front, in full, before anything goes on a shirt.

We used to split profits three ways. In practice most artists would rather have a guaranteed sum than a percentage of sales that may never materialize, and they're right to want that. They shouldn't have to gamble on whether a design sells. So we commission the work, pay the agreed fee, and purchase the merchandising rights with it.

Artists are credited by name on every product page. Some of our earliest house-brand designs aren't, and we've written about why on the Shop Team FERAL page.

Do you work with creators?

Yes. Team FERAL started as a way for smaller creators to get merch made without the minimum-order sizes and audience thresholds the big stores expect. Some of what's on the site is a full creative partnership — Kaname's Korner is her point of view, not ours.

We'd rather build something with you than sell you a service. That means we're picky about how it's structured: you keep ownership of your likeness and characters, nothing goes live without your sign-off, and the terms are written down before anything gets printed. How does my purchase support my creator?

Profits from all of our sales are split equally between Team FERAL and our Partners. This means that one-half of the profit from your purchase goes directly to the creator you are supporting.

How does my purchase benefit the Artist that helped create the design?

Commission prices are negotiated with each artist separately to create the work to insure that even if a particular design is not popular they are still paid fairly for their time, effort, and skill. Team FERAL pays a premium for Full or Commercial Rights to every commissioned piece.
